Outside Names TCR Advanced Pro Disc Gear of the Year!
Outside magazine has chosen the 2017 TCR Advanced Pro Disc road bike as a Gear of the Year award winner for its 2017 Summer Buyer’s Guide. Editors named the lightweight composite race machine their number one pick among all the road bikes they tested this year.
“Road bike designers are taking cue from the mountain world,” wrote Outside editors. “The Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1 Disc combines everything great about last year’s version—the aggressive handling, quick climbing and feathery weight—while adding just one thing: Shimano disc brakes. This simple modification earned the 2017 TCR Advanced Pro the #1 spot in this year’s road bike roundup.”
The TCR Advanced Pro Disc was chosen from a long list of road bikes to take top honors. Outside’s team of editors and gear experts compiled a list of 335 proven summer products in various categories including cycling, running, hiking and fitness that are featured in the Summer Buyer's Guide.
“With each season’s outdoor products becoming more and more advanced, this year’s summer roundup has been our most competitive yet,” said Outside Buyer’s Guide editor Will Egensteiner. “Hours of research have been devoted to perfecting the 2017 Summer Buyer’s Guide and finding our ‘Gear of The Year’ winners.”
