Giant Factory Off-Road Team rider Josh Carlson wrapped up the EWS E-Series with a strong top-10 finish at the final race of the 2022 E-bike series in Finale Ligure, Italy.

The Australian had a solid day of racing, scoring a couple of second-place stage results and finishing top-five in four of the 12 stages held in Finale Ligure, an iconic location on the coast of Italy that has been hosting EWS events for the past 10 years.

Riding his Trance X Advanced E+, Carlson tackled the steep, rocky and technical terrain of Finale Ligure with speed and confidence. He finished second on stages 3 and 7, and ended up 10th overall. That result put him eighth in the final series rankings. In addition to his Trance X Advanced E+, Carlson also rode his Reign E+ for certain EWS-E events.

“It’s been a battle all season,” said Carlson, who wore his Giant Line shoes for the final round. “Every race was something different, and every race threw a new challenge at us. So, to come away with eighth overall, I thank my Giant Factory Off-Road Team and all our supporters. Pretty excited and happy to finish the season on a high.”

Following the final EWS-E race of the year, the team raced in the Trophy of Nations Industry Trophy event, which featured three-man teams competing over five stages in Finale Ligure.  Carlson traded in his E-bike for a prototype Reign bike and was joined by pro enduro racer Mckay Vezina and team mechanic Phil Pericard. The Giant Industry Team went on to win the event, beating Polygon Factory Racing and Intense Cycle Europe (second and third respectively) to wrap up the 2022 enduro season on a winning note.
