Enduro Mountain Bike Magazine chose the new Trance Advanced as one of its “six hottest trail bikes” of the year, featuring it in a recent review of the top all-rounder off-road machines. Editors tested all six bikes on the trails of Lago di Garda, Italy, as well as on their local German trails in the Chiemgau Alps and the Samerberg Bikepark.
Pitting it against the other top choices, Enduro MTB editors chose the Trance Advanced 0 as having the “best value for the money,” beating out competitor bikes including the Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper, the Trek Fuel EX 9.9 29 and the Scott Genius 700 Ultimate.
“Getting on the bike, it quickly becomes clear what the Giant Trance was designed for,” wrote Enduro Mountainbike editor Christoph Bayer. “Downhill fun! The rider is very centrally positioned on the bike. The high cockpit gives a feeling of security, and paired with the plush suspension the Trance encourages you to stay off the brakes right out the gate.”
Describing the overall ride quality, Bayer wrote: “Overall, the Trance rides calmly yet remains extremely agile. Getting on the pedals, the low weight of the bike and small diameter wheels allow it to accelerate forward willingly.”
