Giant has a long history of supporting the world’s top off-road racers, dating back to 1995. This year’s roster includes 10 riders representing six different nations with two downhill national champions—Marcelo Gutierrez of Colombia and Jacob Dickson of Ireland. Joining those two on the DH squad is American Eliot Jackson. These three DH riders are focused on World Cups and other major events on their Glory Advanced race bikes.
The team's enduro squad gets a boost this year with the addition of Youn Deniaud, a top young talent from France who finished 10th overall in the 2018 Enduro World Series. Deniaud scored several top-10 EWS finishes racing as a privateer last year, earning the "Breakthrough of the Year" award in the world's premier enduro series. Joining Deniaud are Australian Josh Carlson and Canadian Mckay Vezina. Both had to battle through some injuries last year, but still posted several strong stage finishes. The three enduro men will race their Reign Advanced race bikes throughout the season at EWS and other major enduro events.
In addition to the global riders, the 2019 Giant Factory Off-Road Team also includes a group of North American regional athletes led by veteran XC racer Carl Decker. Those racers will focus on a variety of major enduro, XC and gravel racing events in North America aboard their Anthem, XtC and TCX race bikes. Joining Decker on the regional squad are XC racers Stephan Davoust and Cole Paton, plus enduro racer and BMX Olympic medalist Mike Day.
