Bikes didn't become a passion until late 2014, when I started racing local crits and cyclocross in the Chicago area. Historically, I've had the tendency to lack mental focus, but structured training gives me goals to consistently strive for. Even better, a whole new world has been opened that I had no idea even existed! A lot of my travels, friendships, and inner peace have cycling at their nucleus.

Favorite Giant bike? | |
Why is the Black Foxes' mission important to you? | Because it is important for the sport itself. |
Where is your favorite place to ride? | Catalunya, Spain and anywhere in Colorado |
Podcast or music? What’s on your playlist? | When riding, I enjoy the sounds of nature (and traffic) around me. Headphones and riding is a no no. |
If you could choose any person to ride with, living or not living, who would it be and why? | Major Taylor. So I could hear some of the stories of the challenges he faced—and to get some sprint tips! |
What would you say to someone just getting into cycling to encourage them? | Take your time and enjoy the process. The fun is in the journey, not the destination. |
Do you have a favorite tip to share? | Don't grind when on long climbs. You must dance with the mountain. |
Words you live by | I frequently tell myself "We'll see." It helps me not worry about the future and brings me back to the present moment. |
