I'm a SoCal girl living in Utah with a background in Geology and guiding in the outdoors. I am currently working as a youth educator in cycling. Being able to mesh my knowledge of the Earth with my passion for being active outside on road and gravel bikes is a true delight. I share my experience and knowledge in outdoor recreation to make it less intimidating and more accessible to underrepresented folks.

How did you get into cycling? | I started riding at 4 years old, but I didn't ride consistently. It wasn't until I started commuting on a road bike in college that I got interested in riding more for the adventure and socializing with friends. |
Why is the Black Foxes' mission important to you? | I grew up with little desire to venture outdoors primarily because my Black elders found it unsafe and unlikely for Black folks. I want to share my experiences and guidance in cycling so that future generations of BIPOC will see our participation in the outdoors as normal and essential to our well-being. |
Where is your favorite place to ride? | Santa Barbara, California roads and Southern Utah groads |
Podcast or music? What’s on your playlist? | For a long drive, I'm listening to podcasts like RadioLab and Risk! because I love an awe-inspiring, edgy story. For a short drive, I'm listening to easy-going sounds by Tycho and Khruangbin, or turning up to Cactus Jack and the Get Turnt playlist on Spotify. |
If you could choose any person to ride with, living or not living, who would it be and why? | I would ride with Harriet Tubman because she would obviously be a force for BIPOC in the sport and I have a feeling she could scout some killer routes. |
What would you say to someone just getting into cycling to encourage them? | Don't allow the mainstream cycling culture to intimidate you or dictate what makes you a "cyclist." Wear what you're comfortable in. Go your own pace. Ride in whatever way makes you feel free and empowered. |
Do you have a favorite tip to share? | Nutrition is key! Hydrate before you're thirsty and eat before you're hungry. |
Words you live by | To Be a Rock and Not to Roll. |
