GIANT SureLock LED Key

We have identified that the LED Key contains a battery compartment that may be accessed without the required level of child resistance. The LED Key uses two CR1220 button cell batteries which, if removed, may pose a serious ingestion and choking hazard to children and others if swallowed.

Please note:

  • Depending on the model, the lock comes with one LED key and two to four conventional keys.
  • The lock remains fully secure and functional with the conventional keys provided.
  • The recall only affects the LED key.

Affected models:
Your LED key module may be affected if your lock has one of the following model numbers:

  • 520000013 – SURELOCK FLEX KEY 15

  • 520000014 – SURELOCK FLEX KEY 12

  • 520000055 – GIANT SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1

  • 520000056 – GIANT SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 STD - 140mm

  • 520000065 – GIANT SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 12

  • 520000066 – GIANT SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 1

Security measures

For your safety, Giant strongly urges you to take the following measures

  1. Check the lock
    Check if the lock comes with an LED key and if the lock model number is listed among the affected models.

  2. Store the LED key safely
    Store the LED key in a safe place, away from children and anyone who might accidentally access or swallow the button batteries.

  3. Return the LED Key to your Giant Dealer
    Return the LED Key to your Giant retailer, who will provide a EUR 5 cash refund and will ensure environmentally responsible disposal.

  4. Further Questions
    When you have any further question, please contact your Giant retailer

Please note

  • The lock itself remains fully secure and usable with the standard keys included. Depending on the model, your lock contains one LED Key and two to four standard keys
  • Only the LED Key component is affected by this recall.
