Rave Reviews For New Anthem 29 Range!

Giant recently unveiled the all-new Anthem 29 range of cross-country bikes featuring new geometry and updates to its Maestro Suspension system. In June, a group of editors from some of the world’s top cycling publications and websites got a chance to meet the product designers and athletes who helped develop the new Anthem 29 during a media event in Southern California. They also had a chance to ride the new Anthem Advanced Pro 29 on coastal California trails near Malibu to get their first impressions.

Over the past few weeks, dozens of news stories and initial reviews have been published in print and digital media outlets. Many of the stories reviewed the evolution of the Anthem platform—which first appeared as a revolutionary full-suspension, World Cup-ready XC race bike in 2005—and describe how the latest model sets a new standard in performance.

“For 2018, the Anthem 29 has undergone a total refresh,” wrote Bicycling magazine’s Ron Koch. “The shorter chainstays really give this bike a modern feel compared to the old one. Even with the slacker head angle, it seems to corner more quickly than before, yet at the same time shows a more stable manner in the rough and fast straightaways. It seems significantly improved in every way.”

Jason Sumner of also had a chance to test-ride the new Anthem in California, and wrote: “On the trail the overwhelming sensation was one of ruthless efficiency. This bike is cat quick, accelerating rapidly and then easily maintaining speed whether climbing, rolling, or bombing downhill. Steering was precise and sharp, with not a hint of front-end lightness, even on steep, ticky-tacky climbs with tight switchbacks. I was also impressed with how well the bike sat up in its travel, never wallowing or diving.”
