The website Feed The Habit posted a new review of the 2018 XtC Advanced 27.5+, testing the hardtail off-roader on challenging singletrack terrain. Reviewer Jason Mitchell gave it a strong 8.7 ranking (out of 10), claiming that its composite frame and trail-gobbling 2.8 tires deliver “plus-sized grins.”
“Re-connecting with the trail has never been easier or more fun than on a 27.5+ bike and the XtC Advanced 27.5+ is a great one to add to the mix,” Mitchell wrote. “Carbon fiber remains a wonder material as I can feel both the chatter reduction and pedaling responsiveness with this frame that I couldn’t with alloy and steel flavors. The large chainstays and downtube come into play when pusing the bike hard as energy is effectively transformed into motion.”
Mitchell listed some of his highlights with the bike, which include: "a zippy ride," great value, tubeless tire system, included dropper post, and excellent overall value.
Summing it up, Mitchell wrote: “The Giant XtC Advanced 27.5+ delivers a responsive, plus-sized hardtail experience. It takes the edge off when the going gets rough and delivers ample traction in tricky situations. With a value-packed build, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better overall package.”
