Cycling Plus magazine and its affiliated website BikeRadar granted its highest honor, the coveted “Road Bike of the Year" award, to the TCR Advanced. Specifically, the 2018 TCR Advanced 2 was chosen as one of the top 40 finalists and then selected as the overall winner through a rigorous review process that you can learn more about in the magazine, online, and also in this video.
Singling out this composite all-rounder for its “fantastic performance, impressive comfort and stunning value,” editors wrote that the TCR Advanced 2 model they tested “will make anyone feel like a better rider.”
“The TCR Advanced 2 is a thoroughly satisfying and incredibly comfortable bike to ride at a steady speed,” editors wrote. “But put the hammer down and it really comes alive, with seemingly never-ending ability.”
This marks the third time a bike from the TCR range has won a Cycling Plus/BikeRadar Road Bike of the Year award. “The latest TCR is a process of evolution, not revolution,” they wrote.“Giant has tweaked the design with subtle improvements that add up to one of the most compelling and well-priced bikes today.”
Editors also applauded some of the high-performance Giant components that are spec’d on the TCR Advanced, including the Giant WheelSystem. “Giant should be applauded for its commitment to developing its own parts and wheelsets,”they wrote. “Gone are the bland, branded-up parts of old, replaced with highly competent, well-made and designed finishing kit.”
