Flow Mountain Bike recently tested the new Reign putting the enduro machine through its paces on rugged Australian trails. After several test sessions, Flow editors claimed it to be “one of the most confident high-speed descenders of recent times at a very reasonable price.”
Giving credit to the Reign’s enduro racing heritage with the Giant Factory Off-Road Team, Flow wrote that, with its 160mm of updated Maestro suspension travel, the bike shines brightest while bombing down aggressive descents. The new series features updated geometry plus a new trunnion-mount shock and Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm.
“Giant have clearly done their homework with guys like Josh Carlson to position the Reign above the Trance in the realm of epic descenders,” they wrote. “The Reign is burly, loves a pounding, and isn’t afraid of much. We expected it to be a ripper descender, but we didn’t expect it to make us feel invincible!”
