Michał Paluta is the current Polish National Champion, conquering the elite men's field in 2019 after already winning the U23 title in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, the 24-year old showed his potential, finishing eighth in the U23 Road Race at the UCI World Championships in Norway. Paluta’s grandfather, who owned a bicycle store in Strzelce Krajeń, gave him his love of cycling before PE teachers introduced Michał to the Cycling School Leagues. Michał was just 12 years old when he joined the club LKS POM Strzelce Krajeńskie. Paluta prefers classics and one-day races as well as short stage races and excels on undulating or hilly terrain. He began his cycling career in cross-country mountain bike races and still sometimes participates in such races. He likes the riding style of Greg Van Avermaet, Philippe Gilbert and Zdenek Stybar.
