Developed with pro sprinters and proven in the heat of battle, this aero road machine was created for one reason: to win. Any time you’re in the wind—sprinting, attacking or chasing—you have a proven advantage with the Propel Advanced SL. The stiff, superlight Advanced SL-grade frameset features AeroSystem shaping technology, which means every tube shape and angle is optimized for minimal drag. And with proven technologies including the SpeedControl SL brake system, an integrated Vector seatpost and internal cable routing, it's the bike to choose when every second counts.
As the pioneer of the integrated seatpost, Giant continues to improve its original design with lighter weight (approximately 45 grams of weight savings, compared to a standard composite seatpost), improved aerodynamics and an even greater “tuned” forgiving ride feel.
Advanced SL toptubes are “grafted” to the seattube using filament winding and co-molding. This complex process involves hand weaving the two tubes together, then re-molding the area under heat and high pressure to unify the junction - resulting in a lighter, stronger junction than with traditional molding.
This manufacturing process allows Giant to construct the front triangle of Advanced SL bicycles with larger -and therefore fewer- sections of composite material. With fewer pieces and junctions, the frames are up to 100 grams lighter and significantly stronger.
An oversized box-section stem, designed for torsional stiffness and tuned for vertical compliance, is seamlessly integrated into a full carbon handlebar. The aero handlebar top profile maximizes aerodynamic performance.
Giant’s innovative oversized fork steerer-tube design increases front-end stiffness and enhances steering performance. The tapered steerer and oversized bearings (1 1/4-inch top, 1 1/2-inch bottom) boost torsional steering stiffness so you can sprint and corner with supreme precision.
This proprietary braking system offers powerful, aerodynamic stopping power. A composite reverse-position front brake and seatstay-mounted rear brake are hidden from the wind. The system also features strategic trailing edges that further improve aerodynamics.
Data compiled from Computational Fluid Dynamics research and wind-tunnel tests was used to optimize the shape of every frameset tube and junction for overall system aerodynamics.
A massively oversized bottom bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86mm-wide BB design. Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
Giant’s all-new chainstay integrated, wireless data transmitter. The fully integrated, removable transmitter sends wheelspeed and cadence information directly to any ANT+ compatible computer.
