Lab tests simulated pinch flat scenarios by pressinga sharp, square-edged block against the tire until it hit the rim edge and punctured the tire. In test after test, the TRX WheelSystem withstood the highest impact forces without flatting, outperforming previous generation TRX and other top wheels in the category by up to 44 percent.

That means you can skip the heavy tire inserts to have less unsprung weight on your bike and allow your suspension to perform better. The wide sidewalls also better protect your wheel from big impacts, reducing the possibility of rim damage.
Hookless Rim Design
