The universal presence of bottle cages makes them a prime opportunity to limit environmental impact in the bike industry. By transitioning to recycled materials, we can make a significant movement toward increased sustainability.
This recycled bottle cage is crafted from recycled plastic fishing nets, significantly reducing the CO2 caused by its production. The recycled material is used to produce a lightweight composite cage that’s strong and durable.
Why a recycled bottle cage?
Lower CO2 Emissions
Using recycled nylon particles to produce bottle cages significantly reduces the environmental impact of the process. On average, a recycled cage is responsible for only 150g of CO2, a remarkable 54% decrease compared to cages made with virgin nylon particles.
Good as new
Through a meticulous process of filtering, rinsing, and drying, we ensure that the recycled material is free of salt and impurities. Using additional reinforcing fiberfill, we create injection molded pellets that match the physical properties of virgin plastic, resulting in a recycled material that’s as good as new.
