Following Josh Carlson’s sixth place finish at the Enduro World Series event in Whistler, highlights the rest of the week included downhiller Eliot Jackson’s 10th place finish n the Canadian Open Downhill. The DH was final race of the week, held on a steep track featuring some of the most technical, rooty and rocky terrain at Whistler. Jackson, riding his Glory Advanced team bike and wearing Giant Shuttle shoes, led the team with a 10th place finish. His teammate Marcelo Gutierrez finished 15th in the DH.
“This round of Crankworx was one of the best I’ve ever had,” said Jackson. “For me Crankworx is about showing all the sides of a rider. From riding different disciplines to doing cool gap jumps to exploring and talking to people in the village. It really embodies the sport for me, and I am so glad I got to experience another year of it.”
In addition to his 10th place in the DH, Jackson rode well in the dual slalom, advancing to the round of 16 in the one-on-one elimination race format, and also made the finals round in the pumptrack competition. “Most importantly, I had such a good time meeting the fans, riding with kids, and hanging out with friends,” Jackson said.
