Cycling Weekly published a new review of the 2018 TCR Advanced road bike, giving the composite-framed machine a perfect score of “10” for its agile ride quality, road-smoothing compliance, and tubeless wheel technology that put it ahead of the competition.
Symon Lewis, tech editor at Cycling Weekly, reported on all the latest technologies in the TCR Advanced, describing the advantages of its Compact Road frame and how its composite build produces a comfortable, lively ride.
Compared to competitor bikes in its class, Lewis writes, “The Giant wins hands down in terms of compliance and comfort. It was most noticeable at the front end where the road buzz of the Hampshire [U.K.] roads was nicely damped. And the rear was comfortable in addition. This compliance doesn’t come at the cost of ride quality or feel, though. Without doubt the Giant TCR Advanced is a punchy machine that begs to be raced.”
Expanding on the ride characteristics of the TCR Advanced, Lewis wrote: “While it’s happy cruising the flats soaking up the worst of the road buzz, it also wants to thrill you into pushing harder and harder down descents to bust out of corners like your life depends on it. It has a very agile ride and feels totally predictable and stable without being a bore or lacking feeling.”
