Senior Workshop Mechanic – Giant Store York

We’re looking for a Senior Workshop Mechanic with bags of enthusiasm for cycling to join our growing business. This exciting role is all about helping cyclists get the most out of their bicycles, whether that’s an impeccable new bike build, servicing for optimal performance or an emergency repair for a commuter.
The position is full time, and the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.
The ability to deliver exceptional service is essential and you must have experience in a customer-facing role. You must have at least Cytech Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and in-store experience with a comprehensive knowledge of current technology from hydraulic disc brakes to electronic gears. You will need to be able to work independently, efficiently and with excellent time management. A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and further your knowledge is essential. You will need to be a natural communicator and able to discuss and appreciate customers’ cycling aspirations, and to thrive on the demands of a busy workshop environment. As you will be joining a small team, there will be some retail work involved in the job as well from time to time. Attention to detail and sharing our customers’ pride in their bikes is crucial, from high-end performance bikes to the everyday. An aptitude for systems and following processes is desirable, although full training will be given. Above all, we need someone who loves cycling and who is able to share their enthusiasm with our customers and our cycling community.

Store Manager – Giant Store Shoreham
We are focused on offering services for cyclists beyond selling bikes and fixing bikes. We offer cyclists a local hub for all their cycling needs.
To thrive as location manager you will need to be an experienced cycle shop manager looking to work in a fast evolving, forward thinking cycle retailer. You will need to love the Giant brand and be open minded to promoting the store through ride outs, talks, books signings, the Cadence Pro Bike Fit studio, maintenance classes and indoor classes from Yoga to Wattbikes for cyclists.
You will need to show that you have the following:-
· A “Can Do” attitude.
· Strong leadership skills
· An ability to motivate a sales team to hit targets
· Deliver excellent customer service.
· Be able to communicate confidently with everyone from the founders of Cadence Performance or the MD of Giant UK through to your part-time staff.
· Be highly organised and meticulous.
· Use social media and old school marketing to give the business a loud voice.
· Have the skills to manage everything and everyone from Bike fitting to your part-time mechanics.
· Lead the store from the shop floor and remain hands on at all times.
· Keep the back office functioning smoothly.
This store manager will be responsible for a team of 5-10 staff including a busy workshop and professional Bike fitting suite. The store is open seven days a week and the manager is expected to ensure that it runs smoothly for the whole week. They will be responsible for planning their time and that of the rest of the staff effectively in this exciting location on the south coast.
In return for your management skills, hard work and commitment to the position you will be paid a decent store management salary (in the region of £25K dependent on experience), have entitlement to an uncapped profit related bonus scheme, cycle to work scheme and staff discount at trade+VAT from day one.
