Giant riders Marianne Vos and Katie Compton crowded the podium at Sunday’s seventh round of the Cyclocross World Cup Series in France, finishing first and third respectively in the elite women's race.

The women’s field faced difficult conditions in the penultimate round of the World Cup in Liévin, located in the north of France. The course started out frozen but started to melt and turn muddy during the race. There were several crashes at the front of the action, and both Vos and Compton—riding their Giant TCX Advanced SL bikes, had to recover after hitting the ground.

Vos, who races for the Rabobank Pro Women’s team, and Compton, of the Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team, will be two favorites for the upcoming World Championships in Belgium at the end of the month. Both recently won their respective national championships—Vos in The Netherlands and Compton in the U.S.

Adding to Rabobank-Giant’s success in France was Under-23 World Champion Lars van der Haar. The 20-year-old Dutch rider won the U23 race, increasing his overall lead in the World Cup. Van der Haar also had to overcome mishaps during the race; he crashed twice but still managed to take the win.

The World Cup series concludes next week in The Netherlands.
