Rabobank-Giant cyclocross rider Lars van der Haar scored his second consecutive win at the Under-23 European Championship, retaining the title for another year. Van der Haar, riding his Giant TCX Advanced SL, led a Rabobank-Giant sweep of the podium at the November 6 race in Lucca, Italy, with two other Dutch riders, Mike Teunissen and Stan Godrie, scoring silver and bronze respectively.

The 20-year-old van der Haar broke into the U23 category last year and won every major title he could, including the Dutch, European and World Championship. He is off to another hot start this season and has a handful of wins in World Cup and Superprestige races.

In elite category men’s racing over the weekend, Belgian Bart Aernouts put in another strong effort for Rabobank-Giant, finishing sixth at round two of the GVA Trophy Series in Belgium.

Meanwhile, American Rabobank-Giant rider Katie Compton collected three more wins at a series of UCI races called the Cincy3 Cyclo-cross Festival in Ohio. Compton, the No. 1 ranked female racer in the world, added to her points tally by winning two C2-ranked races and one C1 race in the Cincinnati area.

Compton, the current U.S. National Cyclocross Champion, battled with French National Champion Caroline Mani and other U.S. rivals including Georgia Gould, and was able to win three straight on her Giant TCX Advanced SL.

“I love this weekend, it’s my favorite ’cross weekend of the year,” Compton told Cyclingnews. “I like the overload of racing three ’cross races back-to-back and each course is completely different but all fun and hard.”
