European riders from the Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team collected championships and medals at the various European MTB National Championships held over the weekend. Swedish rider Emil Lindgren and Dutch rider Michiel van der Heijden each earned a national championship in their home nations.

Lindgren rode his Giant XtC Advanced SL to victory on a muddy, technical course in Boras, Sweden. Heavy rains in the second half of the race made for challenging conditions, as Lindgren rode away from his competitors to earn his first elite national title in Sweden.

Rabobank-Giant riders also made a big impact in The Netherlands, with van der Heijden, the current XC Junior World Champion, taking the win in the Under-23 category. Van der Heijden’s teammate Marco Minnaard finished 29 seconds behind to take the silver medal. Rounding out the team effort in The Netherlands was Henk Jaap Moorlag, who earned a bronze medal in his first elite category nationals after moving up from the U23 ranks.

Also racing for the Rabobank-Giant team over the weekend was Fabian Giger, who rode his XtC Advanced SL to a tenth-place finish in a mud-soaked Swiss national championship race.
