The Revolt Advanced SL is Giant’s most advanced gravel race bike, engineered system-first for competition. It’s built on an Advanced SL-grade composite frameset shaped for aerodynamic efficiency at gravel race speeds. Every detail is designed to make you faster, from the first kilometer to the last.

Unlike bikes that treat the frame as the primary product and leave component selection to chance, the Revolt Advanced SL employs our Total Speed System design philosophy: the frame, fork, one-piece aero cockpit, WheelSystems and CADEX GXR 45mm tires were developed, tested and tuned together as a single race-ready platform.

To quantify the benefits of this system-first approach, we conducted extensive comparative testing focused on the key performance metrics that define gravel race speed: weight, stiffness, and total resistance. The results reveal how the Revolt Advanced SL delivers measurable gains across every critical category.

Weight Comparison

The Advanced SL-grade composite frameset weighs 176g less than the previous Revolt Advanced Pro. That savings is the result of innovative manufacturing that uses a proprietary carbon resin formula, a fully integrated inner molding for a seamless unified structure, and cold-blade cutting to maintain fiber continuity throughout the layup. The complete Revolt Advanced SL 0 system—frameset, CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem, Contact SLR XR Integrated handlebar and CADEX GXR 45mm tires—weighs 4,237g. That’s 288g lighter than the equivalent previous-generation system (despite adding wider 45mm race tires).

The Revolt Advanced SL 0 with CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem delivers a 22.7% improvement in system pedaling stiffness and a 35.2% improvement in system handling stiffness compared to the previous Revolt Advanced Pro system. When calculated as stiffness-to-weight ratio—the most meaningful metric for racing—those figures climb to 31% greater pedaling efficiency and 44.4% improvement in handling efficiency.

The Revolt Advanced SL 0 (CADEX Max GXR) configuration delivers significantly higher system stiffness than the previous platform, ensuring race-grade efficiency across the entire series. That translates to more responsive power transfer at race pace, more precise cornering on loose gravel, and more confident handling at high speed.

The Revolt Advanced SL applies AeroSystem Shaping across the entire frameset, fork and cockpit. Wind tunnel testing against the previous Revolt Advanced Pro confirms the result: a total system resistance reduction of 18.99 watts. That number translates to reduced fatigue, higher sustainable speed, and measurable time savings.

Rolling resistance improvements are speed independent. They deliver power savings from 0 km/h. The CADEX GXR 45mm tire generates 3.03 watts less rolling resistance per bike than the CADEX GX 40mm tire, at equivalent pressure, while running in a wider race-spec volume.
