Tom Dumoulin

2 stage wins at 2016 Tour de France

Only the fifth Dutch rider to have won stages in all three grand tours, Dumoulin has become one of the top stage racers in the sport. Known mostly for his time trial prowess, last year he proved his ability to win all kinds of races when he took the queen stage at the Tour de France. His solo ride to the finish at Andorra was one to remember, and it was one of two stage wins for him in the 2016 Tour. That win was part of a great 2016 season that also saw Dumoulin wear the maglia rosa leader's jersey at the Giro d'Italia and win a silver medal at the Rio Olympics in the men's time trial. This year Dumoulin says he wants to continue to improve as a GC rider, and one of his main targerts is the Giro. “I’m looking forward to its 100th edition with steep climbs and a lot of time trial kilometers," he says. "I hope to improve on my skills as a GC rider, but it will take more time to get to the top.”
