Talon 29 Scores Bicycling Magazine 2020 Bike Award!

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Bicycling Magazine published its 2020 Bike Awards, a prestigious list of the year’s best bikes in various categories including road, mountain, gravel and city bikes. The Bicycling Test Team, including Olympians, pro racers and gear editors, tested hundreds of current models and four Giant bikes rose to the top to earn the award. First on the list is the Giant Talon 29.

Describing the Talon 29 and why it was chosen, Bicycling test editor Bobby Lea wrote: “This hardtail is an excellent choice for both dirt-curious riders wanting to explore singletrack and active riders who want to try racing.”

Editors praised the Talon 29’s lightweight ALUXX SL aluminum frame, 100mm suspension fork and tubeless-ready wheels, calling it “a great mix of performance, value, and practicality.”

Lea continued: “On paper you’ll see it has the chops to be a hard-charging, aggressive XC bike. A steep 73.5-degree seat angle helps you keep power on the pedals and maintain traction on steep climbs. I didn’t take it easy on this bike—I pushed it through some of the roughest and rockiest trails we have around the Bicycling office. It responded beautifully.”
