Teams/Riders

Pierre Rolland delivered a remarkable performance in late March to take victory at the 2026 BikingMan Brazil Serra Geral, one of the most demanding ultra-distance gravel events on the calendar.

Covering 509km with nearly 9,000 meters of elevation gain, the course pushes riders to their limits. Set in the wild landscape of southern Brazil, the route combines paved roads with long, rough gravel sections that leave no room for error. Riders pass through breathtaking scenery—tall araucaria forests, deep canyons and remote tracks—but the intensity of the effort often leaves little time to take it all in.

From the start, the tone was set with relentless climbs and technical terrain requiring constant focus. Rolland quickly moved into the lead, adopting a measured strategy: maintain a steady pace, avoid going too deep, and manage the effort over the long distance.

“The course is demanding from start to finish, with very technical sections where you need to stay fully concentrated,” Rolland explained. “In a non-stop race like this, managing fatigue is key. Every stop matters, every decision can make a difference.”

The BikingMan series is known for its unique format, where riders face the challenge alone and unsupported, constantly pushing their limits.

“You’re on your own, facing yourself the entire time, and pushing your limits every moment,” Rolland added. “That’s why every finish—and every victory—feels so special.”

For this challenge, Rolland relied on the Revolt Advanced Pro equipped with CADEX Ultra 50 WheelSystem—a setup designed for both speed and durability on rough terrain. The equipment proved flawless throughout the race.

“Over 500km, I had zero issues—no punctures, no mechanical problems at all. Despite rolling over very aggressive tracks with lots of rocks, everything held from start to finish. Being able to ride with confidence in an event like this is a huge advantage.”

Carefully managing his effort and limiting his downtime, Rolland maintained his lead all the way to the finish, securing an impressive victory in this 2026 edition with a time of 21 hours and 22 minutes.

“Winning a race like this is a big satisfaction,” he said. “But beyond the result, it’s really the experience that stands out. It’s an intense adventure—sometimes tough—but incredibly powerful both physically and mentally.”

Rolland also took the time to thank those who supported him behind the scenes.

“A big thank you to Giant France and Giant Bicycles for their trust, as well as to everyone who helped ensure my bike was perfectly prepared at the start,” he said. “Special mention to the teams and mechanics at Giant Blois and Giant Boulogne, who fine-tuned every last detail just before the race. In an event like this, every detail counts—and it clearly makes all the difference.”
