BikeRadar has chosen the Giant Rail as one of 2017’s best mountain bike helmets for trail riding. To determine their favorites, editors looked at all the helmets available today and rated them based on the following key factors: protection, ventilation, comfort, weight and convertibility.
The Rail earned a perfect 5-star rating for having “extra coverage protection, low weight and cooling airflow of high-end trail lids but without the premium price tag.”
Describing the design and features of the Rail, which was developed with input from the pro enduro racers on the Giant Factory Off-Road Team, BikeRadar writes: “Lots of vents and clever internal channeling mean it’s cooler than a lot of road bike lids that we’ve tested and we found the shape to be highly comfortable too. The retention system is easy to adjust and even the ham-handed rider won’t be able to wreck it.”
Summing it up, BikeRadar concluded: “All in all, the Rail has become our go-to lid.”
