Bike Mag Says Rail SX MIPS Helmet "Checks all the Boxes"

Friday, March 20, 2020

Bike Magazine posted a feature on the Rail SX MIPS, praising the trail-riding helmet for its comfortable fit, airy ventilation and features including a goggle strap, adjustable visor and integrated camera/light mount.

Fit is always the first consideration when it comes to a helmet, and the Rail is comfortable all the way around while providing a good depth of coverage,” wrote tester Jonathon Weber. The generous venting helps cut back on weight and of course brings plenty of air into the helmet.”

The Rail SX MIPS also features the added protection of an integrated MIPS Brain Protection System, which is designed to manage the forces of rotational motion by allowing the helmet to slide relative to the head when subjected to an angled impact.

Weber also appreciated the Element Strap System, writing: “Giant went with a nice, lightweight strap that’s barely noticeable when riding.”

Summing it up, Weber wrote: “If you’re after a straightforward helmet with goggle-friendly features and a good spot to put lights and cameras, the Rail SX MIPS will check all of those boxes and a few more.”
