Bike magazine recently set out to find the three top reasonably priced trail riding helmets that offer top-level protection and performance at $100 or less, and its editors included the Giant Roost among its top picks.
“The Roost, Giant’s budget trail offering, saw a price drop for 2018, but maintains its complement of qualities,” wrote tester JC Canfield.
Bike pointed to the Roost’s 15 vents as one of its designs highlights, claiming that even with its added MIPS protection it still produces head-cooling ventilation. “Its interior channels keep air circulating in any temperature,” Candfield wrote.
Canfield also highlighted some of the Roost’s trail riding features as well its integrated magnetic light mount on the rear. Summing up the test, he wrote: “On the trail, the Roost was comfortable and secure while also running relatively cool given its ample coverage and low price.”
