Matthew Bottrill started riding Giant in 2012 and has achieved everything he ever wanted in racing. Matt has been on the racing scene for many years but 2014 saw his biggest year yet, achieving the following competition records: (fastest time ever ridden in the UK) 1:34:43 for 50 miles, 45:43 for 25 miles 2nd fastest ever 10 mile time 17:40, plus 27 wins and nearly a course record in every one. He has also won over 60 National championships medals, 500 races and represented Great Britain cycling team over 30 times.
Matt is well known for time-trialing, however very few will remember he used to road race. He's done everything from riding the world champs, riding stage races such as the Tour- de Landkawi and he even once took the yellow jersey off Mark Cavendish in the Girvan three day!
2014 saw Matt pass his coaching exams, enabling him to start up his own coaching business www.mattbottrillperformancecoaching.com and pass on his talent and knowledge to the next generation of riders so they can #smashitup!

Why I ride | Cycling is a great sport to be involved in whether you're wanting to be Olympic Champion or just ride for pleasure. There's nothing better then getting fresh air into your lungs and pushing yourself, or just taking in the countryside. I''ve ridden since age 12, and have no plans of ever stopping! |
