Recall notice GIANT SureLock LED key

Dear Customer,

We are contacting you with important safety information regarding certain Giant SureLock models sold between 7 January 2014 and 28 July 2026.

We have identified that the LED key contains a battery compartment that can be accessed without the required level of child resistance. The LED Key uses two CR1220 button cell batteries, which, if removed, can pose a serious ingestion and choking hazard to children and others if swallowed.

Your lock may be affected if it is one of the following models:

  • 520000000 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 DT
  • 520000001 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 STD
  • 520000002 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 LS
  • 520000010 - SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 15
  • 520000011 - SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 12

How to find your model number

The model number can be found on the packaging of the lock or directly on the lock housing:

Please note:

  • The lock itself remains fully secure and usable with the two or four standard keys (depending on the model) included.
  • The following models contain one LED Key and two standard keys:

    1. 520000000 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 DT
    2. 520000001 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 STD
    3. 520000002 - SURELOCK PROTECTOR 1 LS
  • The following models contain one LED Key and four standard keys:
  1. 520000010 - SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 15
  2. 520000011 - SURELOCK FLEX KEY COIL 12
  • Only the LED Key component is affected by this recall.

What you need to do:

  1. Check whether your lock includes an LED Key from the affected models.
  2. If it does, please store the LED Key safely out of reach of children and anyone else who might accidentally access or swallow the button cell batteries.
  3. Return the LED Key to your Giant retailer from which you purchased your lock, who will provide a £4.50 refund in cash, and will ensure environmentally responsible disposal.
  4. If you are unable to return the product, or if you have sold or gifted it, please contact us so we can assist further.
