Road Bike vs Triathlon Bike
One of the most common questions entry-level triathlon cyclists ask is, “What makes a triathlon bike?” The main differences between a road bike and a TT bike are:

  • Frame geometry - The seat tube angle on a tri bike is much larger than a road bike's. The steeper angle of the tri bike makes it much more suitable for “aero” position.
  • Aero bars - A TT bike usually has aero bars installed to alter riding position and help improve aerodynamics. A road bike, on the other hand, doesn’t have these bars installed.
