Young Port Moody rider set to race against the World's best Juniors at the Mountain Bike World Championships

Giant Canada Off-Road Team member Lief Rodgers is set to compete in his first World Championships representing Canada later this month in Val Di Sole, Italy. The young Port Moody, BC resident has been a part of the Giant Canada Off-Road Team for 2 seasons now and is finally getting to show his talent on the World circuit. In his final year as a Junior Lief will pilot his Anthem Advanced Pro 29 equipped with his new Fox Suspension around the tough World Championship course in the Italian Trentino Valley region.

"I'm super stoked to have been selected to represent Canada at the XC World Championships in Italy! I've been training super hard all year with this goal in mind. Over the winter I spent most of my time training in Squamish with my coach Joel Harwood and other racers across all disciplines. Training with some of the worlds best enduro and downhill racers has definitely given me an advantage on all the technical xc courses this year! After some solid winter training, I travelled out east with the Cycling BC team to race the two Canada Cups in Quebec. Both races were qualifiers for Worlds, and I'm super happy I was able to perform well enough to go race Worlds!"

Giant Canada Off-Road Team manager Paul Mc Carthy said "When we approached Lief to join the team we knew he had all the talents needed to represent his country. The skillset, coaching and huge family support has given him a great foundation to reach these goals. We are delighted that he gets to learn and develop his racing career at a world level"

Lief will be a part of a Canadian team that is sending over 50 riders to contest the medals at the World Championships. Also included in the team is our Liv Canada Ambassadors Sandra Walter and Sidney McGill. We wish all the riders a safe and successful trip.

Lief will be racing in his Charge Pro Shoes and Rev Pro MIPS Helmet and will be supported by all of his Giant Canad Off-Road Team partners - Fox Bike, Race Face, Easton Cycling100% Bike, HLC
