UPDATE – AVIS DE SÉCURITÉ LIVRAISON VÉLOS E+ : MISE À JOUR DU STATUT

Suite aux avertissements de sécurité précédents des 31 mai 2024 et 6 juin 2024, Giant fournit par la présente la mise à jour suivante.

Par mesure de précaution, Giant a soumis une notification aux autorités européennes via le système Safety Gate le 30 mai 2024.

À la suite de cette notification, Giant est resté en contact avec les autorités de sécurité compétentes dans plusieurs pays européens au cours de l’été 2024. L’Autorité danoise de la technologie de sécurité a indiqué le 14 juin 2024 qu’elle ne prendrait pas de mesures supplémentaires. Les autres autorités concernées n’ont, à ce jour, engagé aucune enquête supplémentaire, mesure corrective ou action coercitive en lien avec cette affaire.

En réponse au message ci-dessous, Giant a donné des instructions à ses concessionnaires et nous demandons aux utilisateurs (finaux) de vélos Delivery E+ de contacter leur concessionnaire Giant pour faire inspecter le vélo.

Récemment, Giant a été informé d'un nombre limité de plaintes concernant la fourche avant de certains vélos Delivery E+.

Certaines plaintes semblent indiquer que la fourche avant des vélos Delivery E+ peut céder sous une charge lourde ou une utilisation intensive, ce qui pourrait entraîner des blessures. Cependant, la fourche a été testée et certifiée conforme aux normes de sécurité en vigueur.

Giant enquête sur les plaintes avec la plus grande diligence. Pour l'instant, nous avons temporairement suspendu la vente de ce produit et nous vous demandons, si vous possédez ce produit, de suspendre temporairement l'utilisation des vélos Delivery E+ jusqu'à nouvel ordre.

Giant tient à souligner que nous prenons votre sécurité très au sérieux. Actuellement, Giant s'efforce de vous fournir plus d'informations dans les plus brefs délais. Nous sommes conscients que cette situation peut causer des désagréments pratiques. C'est pourquoi Giant travaille dur pour trouver une solution à court et à long terme pour résoudre ce problème. Belangrijke veiligheidswaarschuwing Delivery E+ fietsen

UPDATE – VEILIGHEIDSWAARSCHUWING DELIVERY E+ BIKES

Naar aanleiding van de eerdere veiligheidswaarschuwingen van 31 mei 2024 en 6 juni 2024, verstrekt Giant hierbij de volgende update.

Uit voorzorg heeft Giant op 30 mei 2024 een melding gedaan bij de Europese autoriteiten via het Safety Gate-systeem.

Na deze melding is Giant gedurende de zomer van 2024 in contact gebleven met de veiligheidsautoriteiten in meerdere Europese landen. De Deense Safety Technology Authority heeft op 14 juni 2024 aangegeven geen verdere actie te zullen ondernemen. Andere betrokken autoriteiten hebben tot op heden geen nader onderzoek ingesteld, corrigerende maatregelen genomen of handhavingsacties met betrekking tot deze kwestie gestart.

Als opvolging op onderstaande berichtgeving heeft Giant zijn dealers instructies gegeven en verzoeken wij (eind)gebruikers van Delivery E+ fietsen contact op te nemen met hun Giant dealer om de fiets te laten inspecteren.

Onlangs is Giant op de hoogte gebracht van een beperkt aantal klachten over de voorvork van sommige Delivery E+ fietsen.

Sommige klachten lijken erop te wijzen dat de voorvork van de Delivery E+ fietsen het kan begeven onder zware belasting of intensief gebruik, wat mogelijk tot letsel kan leiden. De voorvork is echter wel getest en gecertificeerd volgens de geldende veiligheidsnormeringen.

Giant onderzoekt de klachten met de grootste spoed. Voor nu hebben wij de verkoop van dit product tijdelijk stopgezet en vragen wij u, indien u in het bezit bent van dit product, om het gebruik van de Delivery E+ fietsen tijdelijk op te schorten tot nader bericht.

Giant wil graag benadrukken dat wij uw veiligheid zeer serieus nemen. Op dit moment streeft Giant ernaar om u op zeer korte termijn meer informatie te geven. Wij beseffen dat deze situatie praktische ongemakken kan veroorzaken. Giant werkt daarom hard aan een korte- en langetermijnoplossing om dit probleem aan te pakken. Bent u in het bezit van dit product neem dan contact op met het verkooppunt waar u dit product hebt aangeschaft.

UPDATE – DELIVERY E+ BIKES SAFETY NOTICE: STATUS UPDATE

Following the earlier safety warnings of 31 May 2024 and 6 June 2024, Giant hereby provides the following update.

As a precautionary measure, Giant filed a notification with the European authorities through the Safety Gate system on 30 May 2024.

Following this notification, Giant remained in contact with relevant safety authorities in multiple European countries during the summer of 2024. The Danish Safety Technology Authority indicated on 14 June 2024 that it would not take further action. Other authorities involved have not initiated any further investigation, corrective measures or enforcement action in relation to this matter to date.

In response to the message below, Giant has provided instructions to its dealers and we ask (end)users of Delivery E+ bicycles to contact their Giant dealer to have the bicycle inspected.

We recently became aware of a small number of complaints from clients about the front fork of some Delivery E+ bikes that are in the market.

Some of the complaints seem to suggest that the front fork of the Delivery E+ bikes, which have been tested and certified according the applicable safety standards, might fail under heavy load or extensive usage, possibly leading to injury.

We are investigating the complaints with the utmost urgency. For the time being, we have stopped selling this product and we are asking owners/users of this product to temporarily suspend using the Delivery E+ bikes until further notice.

We wish to emphasize that we take your safety very seriously. At this moment, we are striving to inform customers in more detail on a very short notice. We realize that this issue may cause practical inconveniences. We are working hard to provide a short- and long-term solution to address this issue.
