Racing his Glory Advanced team bike on a short, slick course in Rostrevor, Dickson posted a finals time of 2:04, beating second-place finisher Conor Bate by 7 seconds.
“Irish National Championships was a tricky race for me,” said Dickson, who wore the new Giant Shuttle shoes to take the win. “The course was simple, but also very wet and greasy, so there wasn’t much to separate everyone.”
Dickson said he was happy to keep his win streak alive in Ireland, and the victory on home turf gave him confidence heading into the second half of the World Cup season.
“I’m extremely happy to take first and be Irish National Champion for the third year in a row,” he said. “I can’t wait for the next two World Cups! “
