A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 92-millimeter wide bottom-bracket design. Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.

Now featuring 140mm of rear suspension travel and 150mm up front, plus the superior all around performance of 27.5 wheels, this progressive trail bike has been updated to perform even better on technical trails. The refined Maestro suspension system includes a new trunnion mount shock and Advanced Forged composite rocker arm, which makes the whole chassis lighter and stronger. And overall frame geometry has evolved with shorter chainstays and a longer toptube for confident handling on aggressive terrain.

Mit der Markteinführung des konischen Steuerrohrs (Tapared) – als Standardausführung bei dem Modell Glory 2006 – beweist der Hersteller Giant sein Gespür für den richtigen Zeitpunkt und hängt seine Mitbewerber mit innovativen Lösungen in Sachen Lenkpräzision locker ab. Schon die patentierte OverDrive Technologie aus dem Hause Giant setzte mit der bahnbrechenden Entwicklung des grandiosen Verhältnis´ von Steifigkeit zu Gewicht einen komplett neuen Maßstab in der Branche – und nun scheint es ganz so, als hätte Giant die Messlatte neu ausgerichtet, denn der Hersteller meldet sich zurück und hat etwas ganz besonderes im Gepäck: OverDrive 2.

Produktmerkmale: Giant´s brandneue, Oversize Gabelschaft-Technologie. Oversize Steuerkopflager und ein konisches Steuerohr agieren in perfekter Harmonie und ermöglichen somit eine beispiellose Lenkperformance, ohne zusätzliches Gewicht. Sowohl die Rennradmodelle als auch die Mountainbike-Version sind mit 11/4“ Steuerlager oben und 11/2“Steuerlager unten erhältlich.

Vorteil:
Im Vergleich zum bisherigen OverDrive-System, das bereits mit einer herausragenden Verwindungssteife aufwarten kann, bietet OverDrive 2 obendrauf eine erhöhte torsionale Verwindungssteife von bis zu 30%. Dieser Mammutschritt in Richtung Fortschritt bringt Giant garantiert die Poleposition unter den Branchen im Bereich Lenkpräzision ein. OverDrive

FEATURES: Giant’s original oversized fork steerer-tube technology. Designed to provide solid front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings and tapered steerer tube provide optimal steering stiffness. Road models feature 1 1/8-inch top and 1 1/4-inch bottom bearings, while the mountain version features 1 1/8-inch top and 1 1/2-inch bottom bearings.

BENEFIT: OverDrive provides up to 15 percent more torsional steering stiffness than straight steerer-tube designs. This translates into much more accurate steering input from a rider’s hands, through the handlebar and stem, and down to the front wheel. Whether hammering uphill or carving through a corner, OverDrive transmits input directly to the front wheel for more precise handling.
