DISCOVER AEGIS RADAR
Having awareness of what’s happening behind you shouldn’t distract you from your ride. Integrated radar, rear lighting and audio alerts work together to detect approaching vehicles, make your movements clear to others, and allow every ride to feel safer and more controlled.
When a vehicle approaches from behind, the rear light adapts its flashing pattern based on speed and distance. This helps others read your movements sooner and more clearly.
IPX6 water resistance repels rain and water, allowing you to stay visible, aware and in control through all types of weather conditions.
Audio alerts give you another cue when vehicles approach, helping you stay aware of what is happening behind you and focused on the road or trail ahead.
The radar and rear light sit neatly within the rear rack, adding smart safety support without extra clutter.
What happens behind you can change quickly, so your alerts should feel clear, useful and easy to manage. Use your RideControl App interface to adjust Aegis Radar settings, keeping rear detection, light signals and sound cues aligned with the way you ride.
Designed for E-bikes with Smart Gateway 2.0, Aegis Radar brings approaching-vehicle alerts into the connected E+ System experience. Compatible RideControl interfaces and RideDash displays show visual cues clearly, while audio alerts and adaptive rear lighting help riders stay aware, visible and focused ahead.
Helpful support resources make Aegis Radar easy to understand, check and keep performing as intended. From alert behavior and rear light response to cleaning, mounting and connectivity checks, these resources help you stay aware and visible ride after ride.

Aegis Radar is a rear-mounted awareness feature for compatible Giant E-bikes. It detects vehicles approaching from behind and works with the rear light and display alerts to help support rider awareness.
Can I rely only on Aegis Radar while riding?
No. Aegis Radar is a rider support feature. It can improve rear awareness, but it does not replace looking behind, checking traffic, using mirrors if equipped, or following normal road safety behavior.
Is Aegis Radar compatible with every Giant E-bike?
No. Aegis Radar is compatible only with specific Giant E-bike models and rear carrier structures. Your bike must have the correct rear carrier, wiring and system support for installation.
Can Aegis Radar connect to other devices?
Aegis Radar supports wireless communication features, but actual display or app support depends on the bike system, display, software version and supported device. It cannot connect directly to a cycling computer.
What should I do if Aegis Radar or the rear light does not work properly?
Check that the bike system is turned on, the radar area is clean and uncovered, and the rear carrier or radar unit looks securely installed. If the issue continues, contact your Giant retailer.
How should I clean and care for Aegis Radar?
Use a soft damp cloth to clean the radar and rear light area. Avoid spraying high-pressure water directly at the radar, rear light, connectors or wiring.
When should I contact a Giant retailer?
Contact your Giant retailer if the radar does not work after basic checks, warnings are inconsistent, the rear light does not turn on, the radar or rear light feels loose, or any parts look damaged.
How do I know if my bike is compatible?
Check your bike model information or contact your Giant retailer with your bike model name and model year. Your retailer can confirm whether the correct rear carrier, wiring and system compatibility are available.
Can I install Aegis Radar myself?
Aegis Radar is an integrated electronic safety component. Installation may depend on your bike model and rear carrier setup, so contact your Giant retailer if you are unsure or need support.
Does Aegis Radar use a separate battery?
No. Aegis Radar is powered through the bike’s rear carrier and rear light system. It does not use a separate rechargeable battery.
How far can Aegis Radar detect vehicles?
Aegis Radar can detect cars from up to 120 meters behind the bike. It can also detect other approaching vehicles, but actual performance may vary depending on road layout, speed, weather, vehicle type and riding conditions.
Can weather, dirt or cargo affect radar performance?
Yes. Heavy rain, dirt, mud, stickers, bags, cargo or accessories that block the radar area may reduce detection performance. Keep the radar and rear light area clean, visible and uncovered.
