Colombian Leonardo Páez proudly wears the rainbow stripes as the two-time defending World Champion in the MTB Marathon (2019-2020). To honor his accomplishments, Giant produced a special limited edition version of the XtC Advanced SL 29, the same bike he rode to the 2020 title in Turkey.

Here’s a closer look at Páez’s ultralight XtC Advanced SL 29. Engineered with the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio of any hardtail mountain bike in its class, this is Páez's bike of choice for fast XC courses when climbing speed matters most. It's the lightest MTB frame Giant has ever produced, and each frame is custom-tuned for compliance based on its size. Individual composite layup schedules are used to optimize vertical compliance, giving racers like Páez a smoother ride on XC terrain.

With custom-painted #LionPaez graphics, the full-composite frame is spec’d with a unique mix of components hand-picked by Páez, including a SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS electronic drivetrain, RockShox SID Carbon 100mm suspension fork, custom Space Carbon wheels and Maxxis tires.

Páez is always one to watch at the top marathon XC events around the globe. And with a bike like this, #LionPaez is easy to spot.
