How long have you been riding and racing bikes? I have been riding for 10 years and I have been racing since I was 5 years old which started with BMX and evolved into racing both mountain bike XCO/XCM. I also really love racing Cyclocross and Enduro. Last year I really got into Slopestyle riding and competing. This year I am very excited to be able to downhill race in U15 BC cup series.
Highlights for you so far? I have so many awesome moments on the bike and in sports. I am very grateful for so many amazing opportunities that the bike has given me. But Volunteering with my local school bike program (pedal power) was very special to me. I love to help other kids learn new riding skills, and teaching some kids, how to ride a bike for the first time. I have a lot of amazing highlights through racing and competing, whether its winning a provincial championships or competing in slopestyle, I love all of those memories.
What is your favourite type of riding? Favorite place to ride? I love it all! I really love high speed flow trails, but my favourite type of riding is loamy slab filled tech trails. I love to ride my bike anywhere and everywhere; but my favourite place to ride is Silverstar Bike Park. I also love Revelstoke, Whistler Bike park and trails, Squamish, North Shore, California (Exchequer Bike Park).
Goals for 2021? I really want to do as many races as I can. Whether it is XC, Cyclocross, Slopestyle, Enduro or Downhill. Racing is super fun for me, whether they are local races or provincial/national championships, I just want to race. This year I also want to travel more and explore new places on my bike. But most of all, I love the process of training and I always look forward to training hard, so I stay fit!
Goals for the Future? I really want to race both XCO and CX Canadian National Championships; travel and try new trails around the world, and share my adventures through social media. I hope to make it to the world cup level in XCO and CX one day!
What does it mean to be involved with Liv Cycling? It means a lot!! Riding for and being supported by Liv keeps me super inspired to share my love of the bike. It also keeps me motivated to get out riding no matter what the trail or weather conditions are like. It's also very important to me to be supported by a brand that inspires and supports girls to be active, healthy, fit and to never give up, and to always push hard!
"When I'm not riding my bike, I'm ______!" I'm usually hanging out with my brother Seth, my dogs (Ruby & Maggie), camping with my family, but I stay active with my Telemark Biathlon race/XC race team, riding my motocross bike or baking!
What is your favorite food? Mexican food" specifically Tortas ( Mexican sandwich )
