How long have you been riding and racing bikes?
My parents got me into cycling at a very young age, so it has always been a part of my life. My parents also got me into racing in 2013, which then led to them getting back into racing. They raced for a few years when I was young, and since they were going to the races anyways, they took it up again. I started with road and cyclocross, but after a few years, I switched out the road for Cross Country Mountain Bike.
Highlights for you so far?
I would say my highlight so far is my European Cyclocross trip. It was my first-time racing in Europe, and it was also my first world champs. It was a super good experience and I hope to do it again next year.
What is your favourite type of riding?
I enjoy riding in the woods in small groups, but I also love getting out by myself and enjoying the quietness of nature. Its a really good way to let go and let your thoughts roam.
Goals for 2020?
My goal for the 2020 season is to be as consistent as possible and stay healthy throughout the season.
Goals for the Future?
I would like to live and race for a professional team in Europe down the road. For the near future, I would love to qualify for the 2020 junior XC World Championships and qualify for the 2021 u23 CX World Champs next winter.
What does it mean to be involved with Giant Bicycles for 2020?
I look at Giant Canada as a big community. Everybody is really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Being involved with Giant this early in my career will also open more opportunities down the road and introduce me to new faces and teams.
