What's your favourite bike and why?
2010 TCR Advanced. I loved criterium racing when I was a bit younger. That bike made me 20% faster! Even today when I hop on it it brings back so many memories and still rolls so fast.
What's your favourite place to ride and why?
Backroads of New Brunswick. Rolling terrain, beautiful farmland, low traffic. NB is just as beautiful as anywhere else I have been...except summers are short, and the hills are not mountains.
What's your must-have cycling accessory and why?
Portable tools: I love fixing broken bikes when your miles from civilization avoiding the call for help.
What's your favourite bike discipline and why?
Mountain Bike Trail riding with a mix of big ups/downs that offer tough single track to focus the mind, and double track breaks in between.
I love teaching kids how to enjoy cycling, focussing on handling skills.
I've had a successful working career and raised two respectful young men. The next evolution is to be more community focussed centred around cycling and encourage others to do the same and hopefully, I can ride a bike right up to the end.
Biggest cycling achievement
I cannot pick one. Cycling has given me so many opportunities to meet super people over the last 30 years. I've travelled and cycled in most of Canada, New England States, Carolina's, Virginia, Florida, California, and Hawaii. Travelled to Bermuda, Girona Spain, Rimini Italy for cycling adventures. Competed as an amateur at Mt. Ste Anne Grundig world cup, World Masters (Bromont). Provincial-level event commissar (road/mountain/cross), Club level coach & Sprokics leader, Mechanic at Canada Games and Tour du PEI, PSO president and board member and even chaired a National Championships Organizing committee (Cyclocross). Each of these was special and created stories to tell.
