With its updated ALUXX SL aluminum frame, quick-handling 27.5 wheels and high-volume tires, Fathom is a great choice for technical terrain and singletrack shredding. It blends the efficient ride quality of a classic hardtail with the confident ride quality of larger tires that absorb bumps and give you more traction—so you can tackle rougher trails with total control. The frame is designed with trail-friendly geometry that includes a more relaxed head angle and a 130mm suspension fork.
Balanced geometry with a 75-degree seattube angle puts the rider in a powerful pedaling position on the climbs, while a slacker 66-degree head angle boosts confidence and control on technical descents.ALUXX SL aluminum frameset is hand-built in-house by the world leader in aluminum engineering.
Lightweight ALUXX SL aluminum hardtail frame offers agile acceleration and maneuverability to help riders climb, corner and hammer the flats with efficiency and speed.
Giant Crest 34 suspension fork with 130mm of travel absorbs roots, rocks and ruts. Grippy, high-volume tires boost traction on rugged terrain. And a dropper seatpost with handlebar remote lets you adjust saddle height on the fly for confident positioning on changing terrain.

Built on a lightweight ALUXX SL aluminum frameset with progressive trail geometry, this hardtail features 27.5-inch wheels with grippy, high-volume 2.6-inch tires. It has a number of trail-specific features including a 130mm suspension fork and dropper seatpost. Here’s a look at Fathom’s key technologies:
This state-of-the-art aluminum material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers best-in-class strength-to-weight ratios. The frameset features unique welding technologies for a high-performance ride quality.
130mm travel fork is engineered with a lightweight twin air spring along with volume spacers to adjust performance for riding style and weight. State-of-the-art machining provides tight tolerances for low-friction fork action, and an adjustable damper system lets riders fine-tune the feel.
Derailleur, brake and dropper post cables are primarily routed internally integrated ports. This helps saves weight and creates a cleaner look and performance.
Durable and hassle-free dropper post uses alloy air and oil cartridge for smooth, consistent saddle height adjustment (125mm for Small, 150mm for Medium, 170mm for Large and XL). Handlebar-mounted remote lever makes it easy to operate on the fly.
New frame design provides maximum rear tire clearance for larger tire sizes. This design also results in a shorter rear-center frame measurement for progressive trail riding performance.
Added frame and fork clearance allows for 27.5-inch diameter wheels with wide rims and grippy, high-volume 2.6-inch tires. This wheel setup offers the perfect blend of agility and control for more technical terrain.
Bottle mounts on the underside of the downtube allow Medium, Large and XL frames to carry three bottles. Small frames can carry two bottles (one on top side of downtube and one below).
Frameset is designed specifically for a single chainring crankset, further maximizing clearance for high-volume rear tire.
Wider hub spacing (110mm front/148mm rear) results in stiffer wheels for added control plus more tire clearance and an improved chainline for optimal drivetrain performance.
Integrated Tubeless WheelSystem and tires deliver improved efficiency, comfort and control in the most user-friendly and reliable system.

Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
Fewer flat tires. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant’s Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
