Smart Gateway 2.0 uses an independent coin cell battery, so there’s nothing extra to charge or manage. Designed for long-term reliability, it keeps the system running smoothly with minimal attention, typically requiring replacement only after five years of use.

Key system information appears directly on your RideControl and RideDash displays, so you can quickly check ride status and time without needing to look at your phone, while staying focused on the road ahead.

No. It is not backwards compatible with E-bikes equipped with Smart Gateway 1.0, as it is integrated into a new generation of motors, batteries and displays designed to work together as one system.

Compatibility includes the latest generation of E+ System components, such as SyncDrive motors, EnergyPak batteries, RideControl interfaces and RideDash displays introduced on newer models.

Giant E-bikes introduced from late 2024 onward are designed to work with Smart Gateway 2.0.
