What is RideControl and RideDash?
RideControl refers to the controls used to operate your E-bike, while RideDash is the display that shows key ride information. Together, they form the bike’s user interface, helping you manage support modes, settings and ride data.
What types of RideControl are available?
RideControl options vary by model and can include handlebar-mounted remotes, integrated frame buttons and compact control/display setups. Each configuration is designed to make E-bike functions easy to access while riding.
Is it easy to use while riding?
Yes. RideControl and RideDash components are designed to be intuitive and ergonomic, allowing you to change support modes, check information and manage key functions with minimal distraction.
What information can I see while riding?
Depending on the model and display, RideDash can show information such as speed, battery level, remaining range, assist mode, distance and other ride data. Some functions may also be available through the RideControl App.
My RideControl or RideDash display does not turn on. What should I check first?
First, make sure the E-bike battery is charged, correctly installed and fully locked into the bike. Then press and hold the power button according to the user manual.
What can I try if the display still does not turn on?
Charge the main E-bike battery, remove and reinstall it correctly, and confirm it is fully locked into the bike. Check the display, cable and connector area for visible damage, then try turning the E-bike on again.
Can cold weather affect the display?
Yes. Very cold temperatures below -20°C can reduce battery performance and affect electronic components. If the E-bike has been stored in very cold conditions, move it to a normal temperature environment and try again later.
When should I stop troubleshooting and contact an authorized Giant retailer?
Contact an authorized Giant retailer if the display cable routing is difficult to understand, the display does not turn on, the buttons do not respond, audio alerts do not work, the power button LED does not work, the clamp is cracked or loose, the display screen is cracked, the display is too dark or unreadable, visible damage appears, or you are unsure whether the E-bike is safe to ride.
What information should I provide to the retailer?
Provide your bike model name, model year if known, a clear description of the issue, photos of the display, clamp, cable or damaged area, when the issue started, and whether the E-bike was recently dropped, washed, updated or serviced.
