Trance X 2
$4,499 RRP
Find your flow on technical trails. With adjustable geometry, the option to change rear wheel size, and a 140mm Maestro rear suspension setup, this versatile trail bike steamrolls singletrack with confidence and control.
Key Performance Factors
Updated suspension
The Maestro rear suspension system gives trail riders 140mm of rear travel. The trunnion mount shock and Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm combine for a longer stroke that has a smooth, active feel, plus greater stiffness in the chassis for precision control. The rear suspension is paired with a 150mm travel fork, providing superior confidence and control on technical singletrack.
Adjustable trail geometry
A three-position Maestro flip chip lets riders dial in frame geometry for their riding style and terrain. The high setting adds more ground clearance, a good option for tight, technical terrain. In the low setting, the head tube gets slacker and the bottom bracket drops, ideal for confident handling at higher speeds. The middle position is neutral. In addition, a new headset flip chip adjusts reach so that riders can easily achieve their preferred positioning.
Rear wheel options
All models come with 29-inch front and rear wheels, but the flip chip lets you opt for a mixed wheel setup including a 27.5-inch rear. The stock 29-inch rear wheel optimises stability and roll-over capabilities, while a 27.5-inch option delivers a more agile, snappier feel and more saddle-to-tyre clearance in the rear. Some riders favour this "mullet" setup for riding steep, technical terrain.
Techs & Features
Advanced Forged Composite Technology
A state-of-the-art high-pressure moulding process is used to produce complex-shaped carbon fibre components that are lighter, stiffer and stronger than similar components made from aluminium. This technology is used in critical performance parts such as Maestro Suspension rocker links.
ALUXX SL Aluminium Technology
This High-Performance level, state-of-the-art aluminium material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers best-in-class strength-to-weight ratios. These framesets also feature unique welding technologies for a high-performance ride quality.
Flip Chip - Maestro
The flip chip allows riders to quickly adjust the geometry of their Maestro-equipped mountain bike to better suit how and where they ride. It lets riders change the headtube/seattube angles and bottom bracket height via eccentric (offset, two-position) hardware located on the upper rocker arm.
Maestro Suspension Technology
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.
OverDrive
Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
Tubeless System
Fewer flat tyres. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant’s Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
