In line with the NSW Government’s Information Standard for e-micromobility vehicles and associated lithium-ion batteries (effective 1 February 2026), this page provides access to official compliance documentation for Giant and Liv e-bikes, batteries and chargers supplied in Australia.

These documents confirm that our products meet the required electrical, battery safety and product information standards designed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and misuse.

Certification information is current at the time of publication and may be updated as products, standards or regulatory requirements change.

Certification confirms that the listed Giant and Liv E-Bike models comply with the prescribed New South Wales safety standards related to the sale of lithium-ion e-micromobility products.

Charger & Power Supply Certifications

Giant battery chargers are certified electrical products and comply with Australian and New South Wales electrical safety requirements, including AS/NZS standards and NSW REAS approval where applicable.

GLI270AA Battery Charger

Certified under Australian electrical safety requirements for use with Giant e-bike batteries.

GLI180AA Battery Charger

Electrical safety approval for Giant e-bike chargers supplied with select MY20–MY25 models.

GLI240CB Power Supply (48V Systems)

For certain 48V e-bike systems like MY26 Reign Advanced E+, charging is managed by the battery’s internal management system (BMS). In these cases, the external unit is certified as a regulated power supply rather than a standalone battery charger.

Battery Certifications

Giant e-bike batteries supplied in Australia are approved electrical products under the NSW Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017.

The certificates below confirm that Giant e-bike batteries have been approved by NSW Fair Trading based on independent safety assessment.

Each certificate may cover approved model variations and battery configurations registered with NSW Fair Trading.

Giant E-Bike Battery – Certificate of Approval (NSW29730)

Applies to select 36V high-capacity (~800Wh) Giant e-bike battery systems.

Giant E-Bike Battery – Certificate of Approval (NSW29733)

Applies to select 36V mid-capacity Giant e-bike battery systems (~400Wh).

Giant E-Bike Battery – Certificate of Approval (NSW29745)

Applies to select mid-capacity 36V Giant e-bike batteries (~465Wh)

Giant E-Bike Battery – Certificate of Approval (NSW29746)

Applies to select higher-capacity 36V Giant e-bike batteries.

Giant E-Bike Battery – Certificate of Approval (NSW29747)

Applies to compact 36V Giant e-bike battery systems.

Applies to select 36V compact Giant e-bike battery systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

E-Bikes and the lithium-ion batteries used to power these e-micromobility devices are now ‘declared electrical articles’ under the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017 (the Act). This means that these products must comply with the prescribed mandatory safety standards before they can be sold in NSW.
