Stephan Davoust led a strong showing by the Giant Factory Off-Road Team at the Whiskey Off-Road mountain bike race in Prescott, Arizona. The 24-year-old scored two top-10 finishes on the weekend including a podium placing in the Pro Fat Tire Crit.

Davoust was joined on the criterium podium by teammate Josh Berry, with the two finishing fourth and fifth respectively on their Anthem Advanced Pro 29 team bikes.

“Having the team together for another great weekend was a blast,” Davoust said. “We all did pre-rides together and helped each other find the best lines through sections.”

The Whiskey Off-Road is an annual mountain bike festival that regularly draws close to 2,000 participants for three days of racing in Arizona. The main event is the Whiskey 50, which this year served as the opening race in the 2019 Epic Rides series that includes six events in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Arkansas.

After taking two of the top-five spots in the Fat Tire Crit, the Giant Factory Off-Road Team lined up for the Whiskey 50 and again put in a strong effort racing in a deep field of pro XC racers. Davoust, Berry and Tristan Uhl all chose their Anthem Advanced Pro 29 bikes with Maestro suspension to handle the Arizona singletrack. They also each rode with the new Giant Charge Pro shoes and Rev helmets.

“The racing was top notch, and I am beyond stoked on how the Anthem performed on the rough Prescott singletrack,” said Davoust who finished seventh in the 50-miler.  “Results were just icing to a fun weekend.”

Berry and Uhl went on to finish 21st and 31st respectively in the Whiskey 50 race.
