The Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team combines the world’s top mountain bikers and cyclo-cross racers on one global team racing all facets of off-road endurance competition.
The mountain bike contingent of the team features an international blend of cross-country talent: U.S. Olympian Adam Craig, 2009 European U-23 Champion Fabian Giger of Switzerland, Dutch U-23 Champion Henk Jaap Moorlag, and Swedish up-and-comer Emil Lindgren. New for 2011, the team has added two top female talents as well: cyclocross legend Katie Compton, a seven-time U.S. Cyclocross Champion and three-time medalist at Worlds; and Olympian Rosara Joseph, the current New Zealand XC Champion. These riders focus on World Cup and other elite-level XC events from the April season opener to the World Championships in September.
Come fall, the other half of Rabobank-Giant Off-Road Team kicks into gear, as a handful of Rabobank’s world-class cyclo-cross racers including U23 World Champion Lars van der Haar and Gerben de Knegt, silver medalist at the 2010 Dutch Nationals, take to the World Cup Cyclo-cross series in Europe.
With Rabobank’s support, Giant now has the most well-rounded group of endurance-oriented off-road athletes in the world—all under the umbrella of one racing organization. Each athlete plays a critical role in Giant’s continued commitment to develop and test Maestro-equipped suspension bikes, XtC hardtails and TCX cyclo-cross bikes in the demanding conditions of professional competition.
