Giant Bicycle Shop Owner Selected for Beijing Torch Relay

Lin Ching-fa, owner of a flagship Giant bicycle store in Beijing, was selected to join the final leg of the Olympic torch relay on Wednesday. The 54-year-old businessman/cycling coach was the only Taiwanese citizen in the final relay. Joining him in the Beijing relay were celebrities including NBA star Yao Ming, film director Zhang Yimou and pianist Lang Lang.

Lin has owned the Beijing Giant dealership since 2002. It’s located near the new Olympic Stadium, also known as the Bird’s Nest, and Lin told the Central News Agency in Taiwan that the value of his store has tripled since he opened it.
