Craig and Rando Finish in Top 20

Adam Craig and Jared Rando of the Giant Global MTB team had quite respectable rankings in their events in the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Canberra, Australia. Competing against the best on the planet, both men had top-20 finishes at Stromlo Forest Park.

Racing in the Elite Men’s Downhill competition Jared was on familiar territory, as Canberra is his hometown. Competing for Australia, Jared ended up in16th place, little more than six seconds off the winning mark of 2 minutes, 30 seconds, 33-hundredths set by Great Britain’s Steve Peat.

Adam Craig, the US National Champion in Short Track, faced a fast track and a stiff headwind much of the time racing the Elite Men’s XC. Representing the United States, Adam finished 18th overall out of more than 70 riders, five minutes and three seconds behind the winning time of 2 hours four minutes and 39 seconds set by Nino Schurter of Switzerland.

Carl Decker, Adam’s team mate on the Giant US Pro team, was also chosen to represent the US in the event. He finished in 54th place.
