Neethling Podiums for Factory Team

Neethling rode his Giant Glory to a podium finish at the 2011 U.S. Open.

The Giant Factory Off-Road Team had a busy weekend, registering top results in both XC and DH racing at different events on different continents.

In the U.S., downhill racers Andrew Neethling and Duncan Riffle finished fifth and sixth respectively at the U.S. Open Downhill event in New Jersey. Neethling, the 2010 winner of the U.S. Open, which is held at Diablo Freeride Park in Vernon, New Jersey, posted the fastest qualifying time on Saturday. In the finals the following day, he rode his Giant Glory to fifth place, 4.48 seconds off American Aaron Gwin’s winning time. Riffle finished one spot behind his South African teammate to give the team two top-10 results.

Meanwhile, in cross-country action, British rider Liam Killeen showed good form at Round 3 of the World Cup Series in Germany. Killeen, who is ramping up for a run at the 2012 London Olympics, finished 16th in Offenburg on his Anthem X Advanced SL. It was the British National Champion’s top World Cup finish so far this year.
